My GC has one of these I just played today. This one is in dire need of some fretwork, cleaning and rounding off the tops (super flat). But the guitar has mojo for days.

I had one of those back in the early 1980s! I kick myself in the but because I sold it!😥

May I Ask what this guitar is worth, I have an exact same guitar that I bought in 99. Rarely gets used anymore.

I have the 71~72 Gibson sg 200 walnut finish. All original and all there. Great condition very little wear. It’s for sale if any one is interested.

Does the 66' airline rocket, with the 3x3 headstock, like the one you have here have a metal rod in the neck? Beacause it does not have a truss rod cover or a steal reinforced decal sticker. Im considering buying this model, they say that the neck is straight, i would just like to know that it will stay so.. Thank You!

That guitar may be more interesting that you realize. I tried to screenshot and enhance the back of the headstock to read the serial number, but from what I can see it looks like part of the number is missing. Not sure how you came up with the 2002 date? If the serial number starts with 20xxxxx then it may be from 1982. And if it is the model isprobably an LS150 and it would be worth sorting out. Does anyone know if a similar Era (1930s) Sears Sold , Supertone , "Kenmore" Archtop , with F-Holes has All Solid Woods construction ? Mine has what looks like a Faux finish on the top , back , & sides woods. Probably Birch. Wondering if folks know if this is an All Solid woods Archtop ? Thanks, Dean

I think what you play is not a L59. It looks like a HG-430-LP-N. The L59 was build from 1985 until the mid 90s. I own one in violin burst 🙂. Only the black L59 after roughly 94 had gold Hardware. They were build mostly in Korea. But yours is a great guitar though. Very nice sounding.

I got two! Both has HS/HSS and in D-standard tuning. I play mostly black metal which some find amusing. :) Using DiMarzio Evolution and The Chopper and they sound amazing.

That riff at the start made me think you were about to play the theme tune from King of the Hill!

Awesome video! Rarely does anyone appreciate the secret of these, having a zero fret and amazingly low action. If you replace the bridge pickup with something like an M3 of California RH-100 and move it as close as possible to the bridge and just wire the bridge pickup directly to the jack, you will have a nice sound pretty darn close to a Mosrite Mark 2.

Bought a cheap Squier Bronco that I'm trying to get to mimic this guitar. I have the pickup and the flatwounds, hoping to learn more about the pots and see if i can whittle some wood saddles

If you think that's cool - You should look behind the pickguard - amazing inside with a threaded rod whole length of body that moves the bridge,up and down using the small end of the trem bar - below the strap lock, which that bar actually has one (allen) on each end of the bar (different sizes) - amazing piece of kit, complicated as can be, that once set up, does play amazinly well. I have one righht beside me - no compartment for springs on back, they're part of the threaded rod inside. You can easily tell by no back routing. Did I use the term amazing enough? It'll blow yer mind to see the guts of it

My first guitar back in 1981. My buddy said it wasn’t cool and convinced me to sell it for a POS Hondo Les Paul. Horrible guitar. 🤦‍♂️ Someday I’ll get a Univox again.

I just acquired my first Fujigen instrument, the 1993 Ibanez RT 452 12-string. Did a bit of music-nerd diving into the history of both Fujigen and Ibanez (yeah, as a Spanish speaker I now use the traditional pronunciation of Ibanez, even if it annoys folks.) Amazing mint instrument! Only produced that year, so I feel fortunate to have found such a clean one. Anyway, nice video. I subbed and liked, now feeding the gods of algorithms with a comment. I look forward to viewing more of your content, and to exploring more of these sweet Japanese guitars.

Picked one of these up last fall from a guy who clears out estates. It came with an original case and I paid $900. It's a little more than I wanted to pay, and when I first looked at it, the action was pretty high. I took a bit of a chance, but it is an awesome guitar. It just creates so much sound, and has a great vintage guitar feel and sound. I was lucky that the neck is good in action is low after I set it up. It's my main acoustic right now. I also have a Martin d16 and a Laravee d03. Thanks for sharing PS, did you know this is the guitar that Phoebe plays on Friends?
